Rainforest Garden

  • The tropical garden is maintained daily by our wonderful gardener & dear friend, Misael

  • The property features the Heliconia flowering plant, tropical ginger plant, banana bushes, mango trees, avocado trees, coffee flowering plants and many others

  • The flora specifically attracts a diversity of butterflies, dragonflies & red tree frogs


  • The garden is home to a large flock of Oropendula birds, is regularly visited by a diverse array of Toucans and up to 60 other species of birds

  • Also, home to a family of Iguanas and visited by Sloths
 

Birdwatching

  • In 2019 The Villa Hermosa was visited by Society Members of the Cornell (Bird Watching) Lab of Ornithology

  • 60+ species of birds were documented on the 1.15 acre property during 1 week

  • 40+ species of birds were documented on the 1.15 acre property over just 2 days


  • The tall trees attract bigger birds such as Oropendula (a large flock lives on the property) and Toucans (consistent visitors due to the tall trees on the property)

Upon request, owners secure discounts for guest day-passes to enjoy hot springs, wildlife sanctuary, tubing & kayaking, and horseback riding.
